Bria Adimora Godley was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In 2016 she graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She attended medical school at University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Currently, Bria is a fourth-year psychiatry resident at Yale.
In 2021, Bria signed a deal with Algonquin Books to publish NO ACUTE DISTRESS, her memoir about medical school and mental illness. An excerpt of her book was published in issue 11 of American Chordata.
Her words have also appeared in Guernica, The Atlantic, The Harvard Medical Student Review, The New Journal, and Current Opinion in HIV & AIDS.
